'We have been making gates since God was a boy' so the saying goes. But in truth, we have been making timber gates for over 140 years!! This page is just a sample of what we are able to manufacture. Call us and we will give you a quote for the gate you have always wanted.

We can supply only or supply and fix most types of gates, from steel security to timber field gates.

Oak field gates and specialty hardwood gates are manufactured in our joinery workshops. Softwood gates are sourced from suppliers that we have found to supply a quality product.

It should be noted that timber is a natural material, for example, Oak posts are likely to crack and split after installation. This is a natural reaction for timber being used in an outdoor application in its natural state. It will vary dependant on the climatic conditions. This reaction to the elements does not detract from the timbers inherent strength or longevity. Untreated timber will also mature to a silver grey over time.

 Name engraving                                                 

Note: We are able to engrave the gate with your property name, but please tell us when you order, as it is engraved prior to assembly. We are unable to engrave after assembly, but we can make a sign to fix to the gate.

 Field and Hunting Gates                                    
These can be constructed with either single, cross or diamond bracing.

An alternative is the Midhurst Curved style.

The Selham Gate is an attractive gate designed in house, featuring a curved brace. This gate can be constructed in widths between 1.2 and 3.0m. The gate in the picture shows an Oak constructed gate, this is the preferred species for this type of gate.

Note: After a couple of seasons weathering Gates will turn an attractive Silver grey colour. This is a normal characteristic for untreated Oak.
